CfP “Science and Society: Contribution of Humanities and Social Sciences”

On the occasion of the centennial anniversary from the foundation, the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje organizes on 2-5 September 2020, in Struga, the International Conference:

“Science and Society: Contribution of Humanities and Social Sciences”

The mutual relations between science and society are indisputable. Changes in the society are driven by the science, but at the same time a range of societal challenges remain unanswered by the science. Starting from the assertion that the production and role of knowledge should be understood as the interplay between society, culture and science, this conference aims to contribute to the affirmation of new knowledge of such a union. Relying on an interdisciplinary approach, the conference will offer a comprehensive treatment of a range of societal issues and dilemmas through the lens of the following scientific disciplines: Philosophy, History, Sociology, Pedagogy, Classical Studies, Art History and Archeology, Psychology, Social Work and Social Policy, Special Education and Rehabilitation, Security Defense and Peace Studies, Gender Studies, and Family Studies.

Through the perspective of these scientific disciplines, the general topics that will be the subject and focus of this conference include:

In addition, the conference will also address transversal topics such as: identity, ethnicity, migration, social inclusion, demographic aging, gender issues, ethics and innovation.
