Not all European countries were represented from the beginning, but the number of participating countries kept on growing until in the last 2008 wave the sample of countries exists of 47 European countries/regions. The fifth wave of EVS (2017-2020) includes 37 participating countries. An overview of participating countries in each of the five waves can be found here.
